Elle est un clin d’oeil à la nouvelle « diplomatie du ping-pong ». En avril 1971, lors des championnats du monde de tennis de table, Glenn Cowan et Zhuang Zedong, deux joueurs des équipes américaine et chinoise, se lient d’amitié.
