Emory Douglas, jeune étudiant en art de San Francisco, rejoint le Black Panther Party en 1967. Il en devient immédiatement l’artiste attitré. Nommé ministre de la Culture, il signe la plupart des affi ches ainsi que les illustrations de l’hebdomadaire officiel « The Black Panther ». Son style simple et percutant contribuera à forger l’image des Black Panthers.
